Open Letter To PUHL, 13/03/07

PRESS RELEASE FROM:
THE POSH SUPPORTERS' TRUST, PETERBOROUGH UNITED SUPPORTERS CLUB, PISA 2000

Dear Sir

As Posh fans, we are appalled at the refusal of Peterborough United Holdings to allow the sale of Peterborough United Football club to Darragh McAnthony.

With the latest shirt sponsorship deal, Darragh has again demonstrated his massive financial commitment through a scale of investment never seen before at our club.

Now it is time for him to be allowed to fully develop the club for the benefit of the city, the broader community and for all Posh fans.

We call upon Peterborough United Holdings to allow this sale to proceed immediately. This can take place without prejudicing the negotiations surrounding the stadium itself. The football club should not be held to ransom in the way that it is, and we believe that it is quite wrong that the result of a Peterborough City Council planning process should determine the ownership of the football club.

Far from saving the club from property developers, we can now see that property issues are affecting the ownership and development of the club.

Yours faithfully

Peter Lloyd, Chairman, The Posh Supporters' Trust
Elaine Lewis, Chair, The Peterborough United Supporters Club
Adi Mowles, Chairman, PISA 2000
