Premier League outfit Norwich City eased into the fourth round of the FA Cup with Budweiser after a comfortable 3-0 victory at London Road against an out of sorts Peterborough United in front of a crowd of over 13,000.

Posh made a lively start to this cup-tie with Joe Newell’s deflected effort finding the side-netting before George Boyd sliced wide with his right-foot from 12-yards.

Bradley Johnson glanced a header over the crossbar on nine minutes following a Bennett free-kick.

Olejnik did well to push a Snodgrass header away from danger moments later as Norwich pressed for the breakthrough.

Olejnik tipped a fierce Elliott Bennett shot over the bar before ex Posh player Russell Martin headed a Snodgrass header over the top.

Norwich opened the scoring on 29 minutes as the ball fell to Elliott Bennett, who made no mistake from close-range.

Jaanai Gordon replaced Craig Alcock on the half hour as Posh made a reshuffle with Michael Bostwick moving into defence as Gordon became a focal point for the attack.

It was 2-0 to the visitors on 40 minutes as a diagonal ball picked out Jackson, he took a touch on his chest and then lobbed Olejnik to give the Canaries a comfortable lead before the interval.

Nicky Ajose replaced Nathan Knight-Percival at the interval as Posh went back to a 4-4-2 formation.

Snodgrass found the side-netting with his left-foot on 50 minutes after Mark Little could only half-clear a cross into the box by Martin.

Ajose fired well wide after a good ball forward by Kane Ferdinand with Jaanai Gordon showing good strength to hold off Ryan Bennett.

Tommy Rowe fired over from distance as Posh tried to get themselves back in the contest.

It was 3-0 to the Canaries on 70 minutes as Posh gave away possession and Robert Snodgrass raced clear to slot under Olejnik to make the Norwich passage into round four complete.

Bostwick failed to convert past Rudd after a McCann free-kick on 87 minutes as Posh failed to force a consolation goal.
