Mark Lawrenson

Born 2 June 1957 in Penwortham a defender who played for Preston North End, Brighton & Hove Albion, Liverpool, Barnet (in the Conference) and Tampa Bay Rowdies. Whilst at Liverpool Mark won the five First Division Championship medals,  three League Cup finals, the FA Cup as well as the European Cup once. His first Managers role was at Oxford Utd but was frustrated and resigned after Dean Saunders was sold by the board of directors, without his approval. Mark joined the Posh in 1989 though his spell in charge was nondescript. After the Posh Mark became a radio, television and internet pundit
