Peter Deakin

Born 25 March 1938 in Normanton

A neat inside forward, Peter was the first player to have two League spells with the club. Originally signed in June 1964 from then 1st Division side Bolton Wanderers, Peter played in the famous 1964/65 FA Cup run and scored both goals against Swansea in the 5th Round to earn us the quarter final tie against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Peter re-signed for the Posh in 1967 this time from Bradford Park Avenue (who the Posh had sold him to) on a part-time basis.

Did you know: Peter returned to the Posh a third time in the 1970’s, however not in a playing capacity but as Youth Team Manager.
