Jim Walker

Born 1 July 1931 in Sheffield

Signed by George Swindin, Jim played for the Posh from the 1957 to 1965. Quiet and unassuming however Jim proved to be a fierce competitor, strong and tenacious in the tackle.

Jim played 43 times in the league in the 1960/61 Division 4 Championship winning side and was ever present during the 1961/62 season.

Remaining on the playing staff at the Posh until 1965, Jim played another 36 times in the League though mainly as cover.

Jim was also the Posh Trainer and Coach until 1972.

Did you know: Jim returned to the Posh in 1993 as Youth Team Manager having been invited back to the club by Chris Turner who had been coached by him in the late 60’s / early 70’s.
