Gary Kimble

Born 6th August 1966 in Dagenham

Although Gary only played for the Posh for one season it was his goal in the 19th minute against Liverpool in the Rumbelows Cup on the 3rd December 1991 which gained him his cult hero status.

At the time Liverpool were the most successful English football club, at the time, were on an eight match unbeaten run and were in Europe. In front of over 14,000 fans at London Road it was Gary’s goal that secured Posh’s greatest ever Cup win.

In total Gary made 30 Football League appearances for the Posh scoring 4 goals.

Did you know: Gary along with his twin brother Alan both played for Charlton Athletic, Exeter City and Cambridge Utd at the same time.
