Dave Robinson

Born 14th January 1965 in Haverton Hill, Stockton On Tees

Signed by Posh boss Mick Jones for a then club record fee of £100,000 from Halifax Town in July 1989, Dave was a classy centre half. He made his Posh debut on the opening day of the 1989/90season against Football League newcomers Maidstone Utd.

Dave scored the first goal in the 55rd minute of the Chesterfield game on 11 May 1991 when Posh fought back from 2-0 down to win promotion back to the 3rd Division of the Football League after 12 years in the 4th Division.

The following season Dave played in 43 of the 46 league games in the 1991/92 season as well as the three play-off games when Posh gained promotion to the 2nd tier of the Football League for the first time in the clubs history.

Did you know: When Dave was sold to Notts County in October 1992 for £450,000 it was a record fee received for the club.
