Match Day Badges

In this section we show nineteen match day badges that have been produced for games involving the Posh. If you have any match day badges that are not shown on this page and are happy for us to add them, please contact us at enquiries@theposhtrust.co.uk.

 

The first badge in this section is from Posh’s 4th Round FA cup game against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on the 29th January 2005. The game, watched by 16,774 spectators (4,710 of which were Posh fans), ended 1-0 to Forest.

 

 

 

 

This badge is for Barry Fry’s testimonial which was played at London Road on the 19th July 2006. The game was against Manchester Utd which Posh lost 6-0! Edwin van der Sar, Rio Ferdinand, Wayne Rooney, Gary Neville, Paul Scholes, Christiano Ronaldo, Ryan Giggs and Ruud van Nistelrooy all played for Man Utd in the game.

 

 

 

Another badge featuring a Posh v Manchester Utd game. This badge is for the pre season friendly played on the 4th August 2007 at London Road which Man Utd won 3-1. The goal scorer for the Posh that day was Rene Howe.

 

 

 

 

This badge is for Posh’s League 1 game against Leeds Utd at Elland Road on the 24th January 2009. The match was Posh’s first League visit to Elland Road. It wasn’t a good day for Posh as Leeds Utd ran out 3-1 winners in front of 22,766 spectators. Craig Mackail-Smith scored for the Posh.

 

 

 

The badge on the right is for the Derby County v Posh game on the 8th August 2009 at the Pride Park Stdium, Derby. Posh lost 2-1 with George Boyd equalising from the penalty spot six minutes from time, however, Derby scored three minutes later to snatch a win.

 

 

 

This badge was produced for the Posh v West Ham Championship game on 27th March 2012.Watched by 13,517 fans (of which 4,071 were West Ham), Posh lost 2-0. Former England goalkeeper Robert Green as well as Carlton Cole, Kevin Nolan and Mark Noble were in the West Ham side.

 

 

 

 

Two badges were produced for the 16th March 2013 Blackpool v Posh Championship game at Bloomfield Road which Posh won 1-0 thanks to a Kane Ferdinand goal. The match was watched by  a crowd of 13,037.

 

 

 

 

Two badges were produced for the Championship Posh v Leeds Utd game at London Road on the 25th August 2012. The game, watched by 10,432 saw Leeds Utd run out 2-1 winners with Michael Bostwick scoring for the Posh.

 

 

For Posh’s return match with Leeds Utd at Elland Road in the 2012/13 season on the 14th April 2012 two badges were once again produced. Posh earned a point with a 1-1 draw with Dwight Gayle scoring the Posh goal in the 15th minute. The game was watched by 24,240 spectators.

 

Two badges were produced for the Leeds Utd v Posh Championship game scheduled to take place at Elland Road on the 16th February 2013. However, the game was never played as Leeds Utd were still in the FA Cup and played Manchester City away on Sunday 17th February 2013.

 

 

Here are two pre-season friendly badges from Posh’s match on the 22nd July 2014 with Wolverhampton Wanderers at London Road. The game ended 2-2 with Kyle Vassell, and Grant McCann scoring for the Posh.

 

 

The penultimate badges in this section of the museum. The badges are for the Blackpool v Posh League 1 game played on the 19th December 2015. The game brought no Christmas cheer for the Posh as Blackpool ran out 2-0 winners.

 

 

 

 

And so we get the last match day badge in our museum. It’s Posh’s away game with AFC Wimbledon on the 17th April 2017 which ended 0-0.
