THE POSH TRUST IN 2007
We thought you would like to see a summary of our year:
- We've started a great new scheme to give away match tickets to deserving fans who might otherwise be unable to afford to see “The Posh”. This is “The Smile Ticket” scheme
- We spoke on behalf of fans at the City Council Planning Committee meeting discussing the Moy's End scheme and at the Public Enquiry. Our enquiries brought up the possibility of an incomplete stand being built at the Moy's End which the planning inspector thankfully refused to allow
- In light of the successful planning application we've re-iterated our appeal to the City Council that the football club should benefit if the club leaves London Rd. and the covenant is lifted to allow property development on the site.
- We continued to raise significant long term funds through our Gold Bond Lottery. These also enable us to seek other ways to help the football club and community football, and allowed us to initiate our “Smile Ticket” scheme
- We sponsored a year group at the Yaxley Festival of Football for the third time and helped raise funds for the Sue Ryder Hospice
- We held a successful social evening for the benefit of Mark Tyler's Testimonial
- Thanks to Darragh MacAnthony and the club we have re-established our stall on the concourse under the Family Stand which is open on match days one hour before kick-off
Best wishes to all our members and have a great 2008
Peter Lloyd
