New Posh Reserves section in our on-line museum

The PST have today (Tuesday 26 June 2018) published a new sub-section on our on-line museum.

It’s called “Posh Reserves” and it provides league tables, fixtures, goal scorers and appearance statistics of players who played for Peterborough Utd Reserves.

Many Reserve team players never made the first team but contributed to the success of the football club so we felt this section was worthy of inclusion in our museum.

To start off this section of the museum we have created two sub-sections; ‘The 1930’s’ and ‘The 1940’s’. We are in the process of producing the remaining sub-sections (every decade from the 1950’s to the 2010’s) and will update the museum as soon as we have finalised the information.

To access these pages click on the ‘museum’ tab at the top of our website’s homepage, the select Posh Reserves and the relevant decade and season.

Gill Williams

It is with heartfelt sorrow, the Trust Board can confirm that Gill Williams passed away after a short illness. Gill died in Ashford hospital, Adelaide Australia, on 1st January 2018. She was admitted on 4 December 17 for treatment on a melanoma, diagnosed on 25 October, only 5 days after first consulting her G.P. Our sincere condolences have been passed on to Peter, Neil, Cate and grandson Rowan. Our thoughts and prayers are with them at this very sorrowful time.

Gill was one of the founder members of the Posh Supporters’ Trust, along with her Husband and former Secretary Peter. They were part of a steering group that established the Trust as an entity prior to the official launch in March 2003. Both Gill and Peter dedicated much of their time to the Trust, working tirelessly and helped us to form a very credible society. Current and Former Trust Board Members, will always remember Gill for her dedication and hospitality when she readily made her home available to us for Board meetings, providing Tea and biscuits without fail. In addition to her active involvement with the Trust as Marketing and Membership secretary, Gill was also very involved with voluntary work for both Sue Ryder and the Peterborough Council for Voluntary Service.

Gill and Peter emigrated to Australia in late 2007 for a well deserved retirement, and to live closer to their Son Neil and his family.

God Bless you Gill. xx   R.I.P.

Long-serving Peterborough United employee Derek Poole has sadly passed away

The Posh Supporters Trust were sad to hear that former Peterborough Utd employee Derek Poole recently died (1st August 2016).

Derek was employed by Posh for 40 years, most notably as groundsman and kit man. Derek was married to Margaret who also worked at Posh for many years in many roles, most notably in the club ticket office. The pair were regarded so highly for their service and the standard of their work, they were awarded a testimonial match against their beloved West Ham United in July, 2001.

Our thoughts and condolences go to Derek’s wife Margaret and the rest of the family at this sad time.
