Posh Supporters Trust officially launch the ‘Online Museum of Peterborough United F.C.’

The Posh Supporters Trust officially launched the ‘Online Museum of Peterborough United F.C.’ at a launch event at the ABAX Stadium, London Road on Thursday 15th January.

Around one hundred invited guests, Posh fans and local businesses attended the launch and were able to find out more about the online museum, hear stories and memories form Posh days past and quiz former players as to their most memorable Posh moments.

The online museum went ‘live’ with sections on:

– London Road

– Club crests

– Managers

– Team Photos

– Home Programmes

– Posh Stars from the Midland League

– Shirts

– Season Ticket Covers

– Tickets

– Books

– Fanzines + Magazines

All the sections are packed full of photographs, information and detail that will keep Posh fans reading more and more, day after day.

The next section of the online museum to launch will be on ‘International Players’ – detailing all the players to have collected international honours whilst playing for Peterborough United. Other future plans include the aim to launch a ‘Historic Games’ section to the museum where match reports and photographs will lead memories contributed by fans.

Watch out for this and other updates from the Posh Trust at

As well as officially launching the online museum, the Launch Night allowed former Posh players and family members the chance to share memorabilia and stories with the assembled guests.  Posh Trust Chairman, John Henson invited former players Jack Carmichael, Roy Banham, John Cozens, Peter Deakin and David Gregory to nominate their most memorable game playing for Posh and family members of Dennis Emery, Terry Bly and George Hair shared a 4th Division Championship Winners medal, club contract letters and newspaper cuttings with all those present.  Eric Heath, who attended Posh’s first ever game in 1934, also gave his Posh memories of supporting the team for over 70 years.

The evening also provided the opportunity for guests to view a range of display boards with extracts and photographs from the museum – ranging from the history of London Road to famous managers and star players.  Come and see them for yourself in the Posh Trust stall in the South Stand on match days where a different selection will be on display every few weeks.

A fantastic time was had by all who were able to be there and the online museum has already proven very popular with a huge increase in visits to the site and interest in future section launches.  The Trust would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who made the evening so memorable – in particular to Peterborough United Football Club for allowing use of the Sponsors Lounge and to Peter Lane for all his work behind the scenes supporting the Trust Board.

If you haven’t visited the museum yet – make sure you click now!

Invitation to our Launch Night January15

The Posh Supporters Trust would like to take the opportunity to invite you to the official launch event of the Posh Trust online museum of Peterborough United.  The event takes place on Thursday 15 January 2015  (8:00pm – 9:00pm) in the Sponsors Lounge at the ABAX Stadium, London Road.

The Posh Trust is committed to recording and sharing the history and achievements of Peterborough United throughout the decades and with this in mind we are launching an ‘online museum’ section of our website.  A small number of sections of the museum are already ‘live’ on our website and can be previewed at –

From this page, simply highlight the ‘museum’ tab at the top and select from one of the many sections – team photos, Posh managers, London Road Stadium, Posh programmes, books about Posh and lots more!

At the official launch event on 15th January, invited guests, local media and Posh fans will have the opportunity to view further sections of the online museum, be the first to see our new museum photo and poster displays (for use on the Posh Trust stall in the Family Stand) and chat to former players and officials.  The bar will be open for business and members of the Posh Trust Board and designers of the online museum will be on hand to discuss the museum and introduce even more history to our guests.  There will also be the chance to share your own memories, experiences and knowledge of all things Peterborough United and to find out more about and become a member of the Posh Trust.

The evening promises to be a fantastic event and we sincerely hope you are able to attend. We look forward to welcoming you.

It is not an ‘all ticket’ event and entry is free of charge, but to allow us to estimate numbers, please contact the Trust (via email at or phone 07908 500504) if you would like to attend so that we can estimate numbers attending and plan accordingly.

John Henson (Chairman – The Posh Supporters Trust)
